Sean Noland Memorial Scholarship PDF Print E-mail

Antioch Community High SchoolWe have developed the Sean Noland Memorial Scholarship through Antioch Community High School that will be given each year to a senior who is involved in many activities, demonstrates financial need, and portrays the same lively spirit we all loved in Sean. The Sean Noland Foundation received nine applications from highly qualified individuals and as of April 20, 2007 the winner and first ever recipient of the Sean Noland Memorial Scholarship was chosen. Our commitment to this year's recipient is $500 per semester that he/she maintains above average grades.

Memorial Scholarship Winner 2009

Logan Kent

Logan is the real deal when it comes to a young man we want to represent the Sean Noland Foundation. We are proud to help support his academic future. Logan is a person who will find success in what ever he plans to do, and then will turn around and give back to the community and continue to better the situations around him.

After receiving many awards all throughout high school for endless amounts of hard work and dedication, he was accepted to several amazing Universities. Logan even received the award of Outstanding Senior Boy (Class of 2009). Logan is currently attending Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington Illinois. IWU is honored to have Logan choose there Campus to call his home. He is excited about his future challenges and looks forward to living up to all the expectations his family and friends know he is capable of accomplishing.

Memorial Scholarship Winner 2008

Zackary Simonini

Zack is attending Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin. He is the true definition of a lively spirit. The Foundation instantly fell in love with his personal charm and outgoing personality. His enjoyment of life attitude immediately reminded us all of Sean.

Zack works hard managing two separate jobs as a camp counselor and making runs on a beer truck crew. He is a busy individual saving his paychecks which gives him a greater understanding and appreciation of how meaningful a scholarship can be. He continues to thank us and wants us to know he will continue to make SNF proud. Zack wants us to know that all of our scholarship money first covers any academic expense he has for supplies and books, and anything left over goes directly to help pay off any loans he has needed to take.

The theater is Zack’s true passion. He has taken part in several lead roles in main stage productions at Carthage. He continues to invite us to attend his shows and encourages anyone interesting in theater to pick up a pair of tickets and come see a play.

Memorial Scholarship Winner 2007

Jason Sippy

Jason is attending the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Jason is meeting new people, developing some great friendships, and taking courses that finally interest him. Jason loves statistics and has entered the School of Business. He plans to study abroad in the upcoming semesters, but for right now he wants to continue his success balancing work, academics, and social opportunities.

As the first winner of the Memorial Scholarship we are thrilled that Jason continues to keep in touch with the Foundation. He continues to mail us a copy of his transcripts to demonstrate his appreciate of the SNF contributions, and wants us to know our money and support do not go to waste. He is proud to be involved with our foundation and even arrives at SNF sponsored events if he is home from school.
