The Chicago Yacht Club Foundation was founded 15 years ago and over this period has funded many programs for youth sailing and disabled sailing in Chicago. We also help underwrite the Sea Scout Ship Privateer, the oldest continuously operating sea scout program in the country.

During the last 12 months, we have funded a number of scholarships for worthy youngsters to the CYC Sailing School. As a result of one of these scholarships, one of our sea scouts recently made the U of I sailing team. We also have a small fleet of sailboats and a safety boat that we use to help support the activities of the CYC Sailing School.

The CYC Sailing School offers a variety of learn to sail and intermediate and advanced sailing instruction to approximately 400 students each year. We also support several high school sailing programs for city and suburban high schools. The CYC Foundation is working on developing a keelboat program for the sailing school. Your contribution could help support that program as well.
